PERSHORE won an entertaining match when they entertained second in the table Pedmore at The Bottoms on Saturday.
The visitors won the toss and invited the home side to bat first on an excellently prepared wicket.
After losing two quick wickets, Chris Prudden (27) and Johan Coetsee (40) repaired the damage.
After Coetsee was dismissed, Liam Ridings came to the wicket and played a patient innings of 34 while runs came quickly at the other end.
Lea Hawkes (20) and Trevor Ridings (37) were the players to accelerate the scoring rate to such an extent that 101 runs came from the last 15 overs leaving Pershore with a highly satisfactory score of 237-8 from their allotted 50 overs.
Pedmore started slowly after tea, but a stand of 71 between Barrett (65) and Freeman (67) helped the visitors to get back to the required scoring rate.
Further quick runs from Pickering and Mills assisted Freeman and the visitors looked to be in a winning position with 30 runs needed from the last four overs with four wickets left.
However, John Brookes and Coetsee both snapped up two wickets in an over as Pershore hit back to snatch a well deserved victory with only one ball left.
Evesham's scheduled fixture at Netherton fell victim to the weather.
