ON Friday, August 19, I made three phone calls to obtain information about the Three Choirs Festival. My first call was to the Citizens Advice Bureau. The lady answering could not answer my questions.
I then inquired at Worcester Tourist Information Centre. I did not receive a knowledgeable answer here, so I tried the reception desk at the Giffard Hotel.
Sir Edward Elgar, our greatest classical composer, is firmly connected with the festival and, of course, Malvern and Worcester. So why is the younger Worcester generation showing so little interest?
Elgar's work is very beautiful and we in Worcester should give more recognition to the great man.
EILEEN JACKMAN,
Worcester.
