CHIPPING Campden rider Russell Marks has galloped his way to yet another success in a national competition.
Russell and Julia Hoskins's Welsh section D stallion Brenig Rhys, took the honours in the Super Solvitax Mountain and Moorland veteran championship in the National Pony Society summer championship show at the Three Counties showground.
Russell has worked for Julia, who breeds Welsh ponies in Campden, for many years and was delighted to add this prestigious win to his and Rhys's record.
Julia said: "At the age of 15 Rhys qualified for the Horse of the Year Show for the working hunter section.
"He is such a star and has so much presence and quality - we were thrilled to win the championship.
"We have owned Rhys for four years and are gradually cutting down on his competitive outings, although he still loves to go in a ring and really show off."
She also has a number of Rhys's offspring at home and has set her sights on producing a future star.
