COULD I say a big thank you to all your readers who responded to the Macmillan Wills Month during June and July, when solicitors wrote wills free in return for a donation to the Herefordshire Macmillan Nurse Appeal.
I am sorry that because of the huge response some people had to be turned away, but I hope that we may be able to repeat the scheme in the future.
Over 220 wills were made and over £7,000 has been received to help us to fund a new Macmillan Urology Nurse at the County Hospital, caring mainly for men with prostate cancer.
We are extremely grateful to those people who remembered us in their wills as well. Legacies are extremely important to us in helping to provide better treatment and care for people with cancer.
I would like to pay special tribute to the solicitors and their staff who took part, and who worked so hard for no financial gain to make Macmillan Will Month such a success.
