MALVERN Wanderers came out of this pre-season friendly with a lot of credit as they gave their older opponents a real run for their money.

Lee Hooper, who scored a hat-trick for the Town, and Jamie Thomas for Wanderers had excellent games. Thomas even scored a penalty to finish off his fine performance.
Town were 2-0 up after ten minutes with simple goals from Dale Humphreys and Hooper, but Paul Edwards pulled one back for Wanderers on 35 minutes with a spectacular drive. Town then went 4-1 up with two more from Hooper.
Tom Shepherd scored Town's fifth with a low drive after a six man passing move.
