ACTION has been taken to remove travellers who moved on to council property in Worcester.
The group of six caravans started to arrive on the site - next to the Perdiswell Leisure Centre car park, near to the canal - on Wednesday, sparking moves by Worcester City Council to evict them.
Chris Waterfall, from the council's parks department, said he believed the group would be moving on by tomorrow.
But he added legal procedures were in place to remove them if they failed to do so.
"We have been informed by the police the site should be cleared by then," he said.
"But we have taken steps to remove the group and that is with the legal department.
"We have certain procedures we have to follow and if they have not moved on we will continue them.
"We are aware they are there and will deal with the situation as soon as possible."
