HUNDREDS flocked to choose fresh local produce at Worcester's new farmers' market at the weekend.
City Centre manager Georgia Smith said even that before the Royal Worcester building opened at 10am on Sunday, customers were waiting at the doors.
"The place was packed out with people talking to farmers and sampling a wide range of locally grown foods," she said.
"Thirty stalls offered a variety of cheeses, meats, fruit and vegetables.
"It drew to a close a bit earlier than expected as the farmers were running out of their produce."
Mrs Smith said the market's success had secured its future.
"We'll definitely be holding another one on the first Sundays in October and November and will publicise dates after that in a week or so," she said.
