SIDEMOOR draughts ace Tony Boyle was one of three men to represent England in the Mind Sports Olympiad at Alexander Palace, in London, between August 22 and 29.
It was the first time England had put out a team for the 10x10 variation of the game and they finished last out of 14 competing nations including Russia.
Tony said: "I enjoyed the experience so I'm not disappointed."
He is inviting new members to come along to Arden House, Burcot Lane, every Tuesday between 7pm and 10pm to try their hand at chess, draughts, shogi and many more games.
Entry is £1 and Tony welcomes players of all ages to join the club which has reverted to its original name, The Bromsgrove Seriously Board Club.
