Evesham Colts U-12 2,
Charlton Rovers 1
EVESHAM Colts ran out winners in this tough opening match of the new season.
Charlton had the best of the first half but Evesham opened the scoring with Sean Fensome finally putting the ball in the net after a quick breakaway.
Charlton equalised less than a minute from half-time with a well taken shot from the edge of the area.
Evesham changed their formation for the second half and regained the lead through Matt Knight early in the half.
This made the match even more entertaining to watch with both sides having chances to score from the end to end play that ensued.
Man of the match award for Evesham went to Paul Langstone.
Burlish Olympic 1,
Evesham United U-16 3
UNITED failed to impress in Sunday's opening encounter in the Stourport Junior League.
The visitors were caught cold in the second minute when a defensive error let in Olympic to open the scoring.
United's youngsters took time to settle but on 15 minutes Martin Watts forced the ball home from a tight angle to level the scores.
Further first half strikes from Danny Bostock and Gareth Benjamin saw United to a 3-1 interval lead.
In the second period Evesham failed to get out of second gear and, although superior to the home side, were unable to add to their score.
