ECKINGTON elected to bat in Saturday's final Division Three fixture against lowly Harvington.
Opening batsmen Kidnasamy Rajalingam and Andy Howorth, making his debut for Eckington, soon set about the Harvington attack.
The pair shared in a first wicket partnership of 77 before Rajalingam (21) was caught and bowled.
Howorth (60) was eventually bowled with the score on 114 having completed his half century in 17 overs.
Mark Russell batted positively for an excellent 68 as Harvington struggled to take wickets.
Captain Dave Barrett (28) and a quickfire 33 not out from Vince Crowley pushed the score on with Eckington finishing on 230-5.
Drinkwater, with figures of 2-28 from his ten overs, was the only Harvington bowler to achieve any degree of success.
After the interval, Harvington struggled to make any inroads on the target and wickets fell regularly despite a stubborn undefeated 24 from Doherty.
The innings fell away finishing on 77 all out with good bowling from all Eckington bowlers.
This gave Eckington maximum points at the end of a frustrating season when cancelled matches have cost them the opportunity of a top half position. The losers, meanwhile, finished bottom.
