THE senior section's Autumn Cup competition at Evesham was played in excellent conditions.
The runaway winner was Gerald Ricketts (80-13-67) from runner-up David Wilson (88-16-72) who edged second on a countback from John Jordan (97-25-72).
The C team did well to earn a half at Kings Norton after a 3-3 scoreline. Captain Geoff Burton and Gerald Ricketts, Mike Palmer and Paul Holder, Bill Dobie and Ken Hunt were all winners.
The scratch team suffered two defeats recently, losing 3-2 at Kidderminster and by the same score at home to Worcester Golf and Country Club. The A team also lost at home to the latter 4 - 1.
The seniors faced better at Evesham, where they defeated Lilleybrook 5-2.
The winning pairs were Ken Piddington and Hugh Homers, Ken Hardacre and David Wilson, Ray Smart and Gerald Ricketts, Graham Pulfer and Geoff Roberts and Gwyn Griffiths and Charles Anderson.
The seniors' Mixed Open attracted a large number of competitors from a number of local clubs.
Played as a stableford competition, the winners with 43 points were G and E Pulfer (Evesham), three points ahead of runners-up J Stinson and Mrs J Stokes (Cleeve Cloud) who won a countback from F Wood and Mrs S Wood (Enville).
