A RECURRENCE of a long-standing back problem forced Jeremy Robinson to withdraw from last week's BMW International Open in Munich.
The 34-year-old Evesham golfer was struggling to make the cut after an opening round of 76 but, while hitting a few balls on the practice ground on Friday morning, the injury flared up again.
"Anything can cause it,"Robinson said earlier this week. "It will go away, it's just a question of when. When the swelling goes down it' s alright and by Thursday hopefully it will be back to normal."
Robinson is desperate to add to his Tour earnings as he bids to keep his Card and is confident the problem won't affect his participation in the Canon European Masters that started earlier today.
"I am going to Switzerland," he said on Monday. "It's not as bad as it was last week and I have got to carry on going."
Robinson started well in Germany seven days ago with five successive pars but three dropped shots in the next five holes left was the prelude to a disappointing round which included just a single birdie.
The Evesham player faces a busy month with tournaments in France, Germany and Belgium.
