BROMSGROVE Cricket Club's First XI are just nine points clear of the relegation zone with key players dropping like ninepins.
After Knowle and Dorridge handed out a sound thrashing on Saturday to win the league, Town have now lost the services of key batsman Jamie Campbell with a broken hand and there are doubts over Nick Davies who has a stomach injury.
Skipper Nick Husbands is still not fit, left-arm quickie Adrian Field is on holiday and Nick Reade is injured. Town could not be worse off as they face up to their two most crucial games in recent seasons.
Bromsgrove lost the toss on Saturday and were asked to bat in difficult conditions against a rampant attack.
Ex-Bromsgrove player Paul Munn made the breakthrough before Warwickshire's Darren Altree picked up five wickets to leave Town all out for 93. Jason Vaughan-Davies made 24 and John Duffy scored 17.
The Solihull side's awesome batting reached their target with minimum effort.
Husbands said: "We should not be in this position and I'm not sure where it all went wrong.
"I feel partly responsible as captain and wish I could pull the club out of it but there is no chance of me playing again this year."
"I hope the lads play to their potential."
