WORKERS from former Kidderminster carpet factory Coloroll have been urged not to miss out on benefiting from a £2 million pension pay-out.
The call from Wyre Forest MP David Lock follows his meeting with administrators Punter Southall & Co, which has already secured pay-outs for more than 30 pensioners who were short-changed following the liquidation of the company in 1990.
The workers won the day back in April last year after pensions professionals Sedgwick Noble Lowndes agreed to pay a £2 million sum in a high court action.
However, during the meeting, Mr Lock was informed many folk do not realise they may be due 97.5 per cent of their future pension entitlement.
He said: "Even though I have put more than 30 constituents in touch with Punter Southall & Co and written to others, there are many more pensioners who are due pay-outs.
"There are also others who may soon become entitled to benefits in due course because of savings they made during their time at Coloroll."
He added: "I would strongly recommend these people to contact Punter Southall & Co or myself because it would be a tremendous shame if they were to miss out on what they worked hard for and are entitled to."
The MP said the reason behind some pensioners not claiming was because many thought the pension company had gone bust.
Anybody who needs to get in touch with Mr Lock about the issue can contact his constituency office on 01562 827007.
