THERE has been a real boost for Batchley babies and their parents after a new facility opened this week.
The brand new baby clinic was officially opened at Batchley community centre, Cherry Tree Walk, yesterday, by the chairman of the Worcestershire Health Trust, John Calvert.
Clinic sessions will be held every Tuesday from 10am-noon.
The facility will be co-ordinated by the Batchley Alliance and staffed by health visitors, both of whom have been working closely over the last few weeks to get the clinic up and running.
Parents will be able to get their babies weighed, seek advice and guidance from a health visitor and buy milk and vitamins from the centre.
There will also be refreshments available as the clinic will be held alongside the existing Batchley coffee mornings.
Debbie Tillsley, Neighbourhood Development worker for the Batchley Alliance said: "The clinic was set up in response to consultation with residents about what they believe is most needed in the Batchley area.
"Parents have told us that they sometimes find it very difficult to get to the town-based clinics with a baby, especially when there is bad weather.
"Having this facility right on their doorstep will be a great help to them."
