REDDITCH Council's ground-breaking fraud investigation unit may be extending its battle onto the internet, possibly by October.
The council is looking at setting up a website to provide further opportunities for townspeople to blow the whistle on those they suspect are guilty of council tax or housing benefit fraud.
More than 50 calls have been made to the telephone hotline since its launch three weeks ago and investigators are currently following up many of the 12 calls registered over the Bank Holiday weekend.
A Redditch Council spokesperson said: "We are looking into the possibility of having an internet site so the public can give us information as well as find out more about the council."
People with information they think will help can ring the confidential hotline number on 534164.
