I AM so pleased to see your write-up about the state of Kidderminster.
I was beginning to think it was just me who was concerned about it.
I've lived here most of my life. I am 56 years old and can't believe how the town has got into such a state.
Worcester Road and Cobham Road were beautiful tree-lined roads a few years ago. They are a disgrace now -- with trees wrecked, and rubbish everywhere.
It is a regular thing to see people pulling those shopping trolleys out of the canal, and under the subways is also a terrible sight.
Kidderminster should take a good look at Bridgnorth. What a town to be proud of, with every cottage and building done up. It's a pleasure to walk around.
Not many towns can boast a beautiful area like Brinton Park but as your picture showed, the bandstand has been wrecked.
Think of the wealth of visitors Bridgnorth gets from all over the world. Kidderminster is a lot like Bridgnorth, with hills everywhere and some lovely old buildings. It could be brought up to Bridgnorth's standard.
One need not wonder if the new town centre development will end up the same. Of course it will in due course - worse, I'd say.
Please, please, let's clean the town up before it is too late.
