A COUPLE will be "Surfin' USA" after winning the holiday of a lifetime.
Mary and Jim Bosbury, of Sion Hill, Kidderminster, will be catching the waves in Hawaii after winning a competition in a national newspaper.
They may have been around to remember the original Beach Boys but that won't stop Jim and Mary, both 58, riding the waves.
Jim said: "We'll have to get into training! This is beyond our wildest dreams, the holiday of a lifetime."
However, when Jim rushed into Mary's workplace to break the news she thought he was pulling her leg.
Mary, 58, who works in the town's Three Cooks, Swan Centre, explained: "If a competition only requires a stamp I enter it. I enter so many I could not recall this one and thought this was a wind up.
"It just goes to show it's worthwhile entering competitions. We've never been surfing but you can't go through life without trying things. We'll have a go at anything once!"
They hope to take the holiday, sponsored by Hula Hoops, on their 41st wedding anniversary next year.
