KINGTON, put into bat on a damp pitch, lost a quick wicket to Guy Muspratt, but it was off spinner John Lostitch who made inroads into the middle order, again bowling with enterprise and accuracy, to finish with 5-42 off 20 overs.
With Muspratt 3-50 and Steve Merry 1-42, Kington were dismissed for 150 in 49 overs.
In reply, the Redditch batsmen were soon in trouble against a keen Kington attack, batting with no pride or resolve, except Dan Protherough, 21, and Luke Wells, 23. Redditch slumped to 71-8, then Alan Houghton, 8 not out and youngster Richard Stokes, 5 not out, applied themselves to bat out the last eight overs to force a draw.
