BY WINNING this match Redditch 2nds became League Champions.
On a wicket giving help to the bowlers, Kington were always under pressure with young Mat James taking 1-11 then, with excellent support from Wil Wilson with 6-27 and Chris Taylor, 3-43, both using the conditions well, the visitors were dismissed for 124.
Redditch, with 43 overs to gain victory lost two early wickets. Then Spencer Cox, 28, and Geoff Eley, 25, battled hard against a good Kington attack and although not scoring at a fast rate laid the foundations for youngster Richard Young with a superb 34 not out off 30 balls. He was well supported by skipper Paul Baker, 20 not out to ease Redditch to an exciting 6 wicket victory and the clinch the title.
