ALCESTER skipper Mark Fawthrop won the toss and put Broadway into bat.
The away side started steadily with 31 for the first wicket but with tight bowling Alcester took wickets steadily and kept the run rate in check. Shaun Quirke with 4-19 polished off the tail and Broadway finished on 172 all out. Beale was the only Broadway batsman to shine with 58.
Another opening stand of 50 between Mark Woolley and Shaun Quirke got Alcester off to a good start. Thereafter Shaun held the innings together until he was dismissed with Alcester only a few runs short. It was left to Mark Fawthrop to hit the winning stroke.
