MARK Hassall, of Kidderminster, won a junior contest for under-14s at the Waggon and Horses Angling Club's pools on Sunday.
The event was held to introduce novice anglers to competition, hoping to encourage others to take up the sport.
There were 15 youngsters taking part, each supervised by a member of the club, or a parent.
Hassall scaled 4lb 12oz to finish ahead of Adrian Wood 2-9, Ashley Wood 2-7 and Henry Jackson 2-6.
Everyone participating received a prize.
