JUMBLE SALE: On Saturday, there will be jumble sale, together with a raffle, cakes and teas in the village hall, at 2pm. Proceeds are for new equipment for the playground.
CHURCH NEWS: Under the new arrangement with Moreton benefice, there will be a service in St James at 9.30am each Sunday, with Holy Communion on the first Sunday of the month at 8am and, from October, Matins at 11am on the third Sunday.
The Friends of St James are donating a cut-leaf beech tree to be planted near the east end of the church to mark the millennium.
They are also funding some remedial work to other trees in the churchyard.
PARISH COUNCIL: Longborough Parish Council meets next Monday, at 7pm, in the village hall.
Among items on the agenda is the proposed car park at the allotments.
A survey of villagers has taken place and completed forms have been handed in.
Repairs to the playground and school matters are other items to be considered.
At the end of the meeting, there will be 15 minutes for parishioners to raise matters for the council's consideration.
