A REDDITCH teenager is over the moon after being selected to represent the country at the Special Olympic World winter games in Anchorage, Alaska, in March next year.
Skier Daniel McFadden, 13, of Enfield Road, Hunt End, has been training with the Redditch Special Olympic group for three years and will compete in the disciplines of slalom, giant slalom and downhill.
Daniel has plenty of experience behind him, having already competed in two national games.
Manager Alan Lines and coach Keith Parrish said everybody involved was delighted with the news.
Mr Parrish said: "This is Daniel's reward for all the hard work he has put in."
The cost of sending Daniel to Alaska will be in excess of £2,000 and sponsors are now being sought to help the talented teenager realise his dream.
