KEVIN Wall was the star when Wyre Forest Swimming Club began the autumn season with the Shuttle Trophy gala at Stourport Sports Centre on Saturday.

He completed a winning double, coming home first in the 11 years 50 metres backstroke and the 12 years 100 metres backstroke.

There were two teams from Wyre Forest in this competition for swimmers aged 10-14, Black and Silver.

The Black team gained most of the honours, but the Silver produced two wins and more personal best times.

Between them the teams gained 14 first places and 17 seconds.

Final placings: Haden Hill 166, Wyre Forest Black 139, Stourbridge 131, Wyre Forest Silver 70.

Race winners were: girls - Rachel Harrison (10 years 50 metres freestyle, backstroke, butterfly), Lauren Corbo (11 years 50m backstroke), Amy Smith (13 years 100m freestyle); boys - Kevin Wall (11 years 50m backstroke, 12 years 100m backstroke), Joe Dyer (11 years breaststroke), Daniel Baylie (11 years freestyle), Elliott Thorley (14 years 100m backstroke); mixed - 10 years medley relay (Natalie Blakemore, Andrew Portman, Rachel Harrison, Oliver Prior), 11 years medley relay (Zoe Chamberlain, Jonathon Baylie, Fay Trezise, Daniel Baylie), 11 years freestyle relay (Fay Trezise, Kevin Wall, Zoe Chamberlain, Daniel Baylie), all-age cannon (Rachel Harrison, Oliver Prior, Fay Trezise, Daniel Baylie, Hannah Wear, Stefan Prior, Amy Smith, Matthew Turton, Tracey Billingham, Nicholas Crumpton).

Second places: girls - Hannah Wear (12 years 100m breaststroke), Emma Levitt (12 years freestyle), Amy Smith (13 years 100m backstroke), Tracey Billingham (14 years 100m backstroke); boys - Andrew Portman (10 years 50m breaststroke), Jonathon Baylie (11 years 50m breaststroke, butterfly, 12 years 100m breaststroke), Daniel Baylie (12 years butterfly), Matthew Turton (13 years 100m butterfly, freestyle, 14 years breaststroke), Chris Panteli (13 years backstroke), Nicholas Crumpton (14 years 100m freestyle); mixed - 10 years freestyle relay (Natalie Blakemore, Andrew Portman, Rachel Harrison, Oliver Prior), 13 years medley and freestyle relays (Hannah Wear, Matthew Turton, Amy Smith, Chris Panteli).
