VICTORY in the qualifying round of the Famous Grouse Shotgun Foursomes means Habberley Golf Club members Craig Donald and Michael Nicholson will be following in the footsteps of Tiger Woods.
Their sub-par 60.5 to win their club competition meant they went into a series of draws held at the Famous Grouse 19th hole during the Open Championships at St Andrews.
Their names came out of the hat with 38 other club winners from Great Britain and Ireland, qualifying them for the international final over the old course at St Andrews on Wednesday, October 18.
As part of their trip to the home of golf the Habberley pair will stay in Rusacks Hotel, which overlooks the historic 18th green and first fairway of the old course.
Their visit will include a tour of the clubhouse and trophy room of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club, the governing body for golf outside the United States.
Almost 100,000 golfers from 832 clubs played in the foursomes, which is now in its 16th year.
