A SINGER from Kidderminster is set to shoot to the top after being awarded a prestigious scholarship at Britain's oldest performing arts school.
Rebecca Green, 20, is now preparing for two years of hard work at London's Italia Conti Academy, where she was one of only eight people awarded scholarships after a tough round of auditions earlier this year.
She described it as a "huge boost" after successfully completing her first year at the stage school.
She had to pay fees after beating off fierce competition to win a place there a year ago.
"I'm a singer primarily," said Rebecca, whose ultimate ambition is to play the lead role in a West End extravaganza.
"It's a perfect opportunity for me."
