ON a perfect summer evening in July, 47 members arrived at Weethley Farm, where Lord Hertford, the society's chairman, had organised tractor and trailer for a tour of the farm.
The Marquess accompanied members for the tour, which included Ragley Park, and he told much of interest along the way.
There were fine views in all directions - the ripening crops, a glimpse of the pigs in a clearing in the woods, deer in the park and buzzards overhead - a delightful way to spend a summer evening.
This was a wonderful opportunity which not many members would otherwise have had, so thanks go to the Marquess for his kind invitation.
The next meeting will be on Tuesday, September 19, at Alcester Town Hall at 8pm.
It is hoped to have a speaker from the Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group.
