Badsey United 3, Studley FC 5
Studley started their Stratford Premier League campaign with a deserved victory against an experienced Badsey.
For the first 30 minutes Studley played brilliant attacking football, mounting numerous attacks and the only surprise was they only managed two goals after 16 minutes.
Ryan Field slotted home after fine work by Tom Goldrick and then on the half-hour, following a foul on Jamie Paul, Jason Harris struck the resultant free kick home from 25 yards.
For some inexplicable reason, Studley then relaxed and paid the price, Badsey scoring twice before the break to go in at half-time, level at 2-2.
Studley came out in the second half purposeful and ripped into Badsey, but were not achieving the penetration they had achieved in the first half-hour.
However, following a cross from Jamie Paul, 'Syd' Latham headed home, only for Studley to concede a goal within a minute to bring Badsey back on level terms.
Badsey were now noticeably tiring and Studley sensed victory.
It was no surprise that after Ryan Field was upended in the penalty area, Lee Adams scored from the resultant penalty.
Studley cemented their victory when Jason Harris scored with an angled volley from Paul's pin-point cross.
