DEVELOPING and delivering a business start-up service for young people has scooped a Worcestershire County Council worker a prestigious award.
Margaret Gray, principal economic development officer, was rewarded by Shell LiveWire, the national scheme which helps 16 to 30-year-olds launch and develop their own companies.
Mrs Gray has already helped more than 200 firms in the county, pioneered the NVQ level three Owner Manager training and has now moved on to manage the delivery of Enterprise support in Worcestershire.
She has also worked closely with Disabled Entrepreneurs Centres, making business start-up services more accessible for people with disabilities.
"Margaret has worked relentlessly to improve the opportunities for young people wishing to start businesses in Worcestershire, throughout Britain and overseas and her achievements speak for themselves," said Sandy Oglivie, director of Shell LiveWire International. "She thoroughly deserves this award."
