A COFFEE morning and bring and buy sale is being held on Saturday, September 16 from 10am to 2pm in the lounge at John-stone Close, Staunton.
There will be cake and produce stalls, tombola and a raffle etc, a ploughman's lunch will also be served.
The event is being organised by Mrs Nan Bevan and helpers and proceeds will be given to Sheppard House and Dial a Ride, Newent.
The family service at St James Church Staunton was conducted by Canon John Evans, the lesson reader was Cathy Rowell who read the lesson beautifully. The vicar was the Celebrant at Holy Communion and the chalice, was administered by Ursula Groves-Smith. The organist was Margaret Riley and the sideswoman Jo Claessen.
Staunton PCC are organising a "Celebration of Marriage" service on Sunday October 1, at 10.30am. Invitations are being sent to couples who were married in Staunton Parish Church during the last fifty years when they are being invited to renew their vows and give thanks for their marriage, but any couples are welcome to attend, if they were not married in Staunton Church. There will be a buffet lunch afterwards at The Barn, Gadfield Elm House. The last such service was held in 1991 and many couples have hoped that another such service will be held. If you know anyone who does not receive an invitation please ring 840273.
