CONGRATULATIONS to everyone involved in the preparation and running of Hollybush Church Fete.
The weather was super and we were able to sit outside enjoying each others company and the superb surroundings, not forgetting our re-vamped Church Room. A special thank you to Alan Greatwood for the repairs, grandson Jake, aged 8, helping Grandad to cut grass and to Paul Diggins of Ledbury for painting and decorating. Alan Greatwood is now adept at sign writing (another string to his bow).
All stalls reported a brisk trade enabling our Treasurer to record a profit of just over £1,900.
The Grand Draw was held during the afternoon and we must thank everyone who donated so many prizes.
1st Prize, £50 Gift Voucher - Mr Morse, 2nd Prize, Deluxe Hamper - Sue Cooker.
The ever popular Auction with John Allison once again wielding the hammer saw a brisk trade for the items on offer including:- Hot air balloon ride for two, pair of directors chairs, a bike (of whom I am now the proud owner), some of Tom Wadley's marvellous carved walking sticks, bird table, wooden planters an several paintings.
This concluded the afternoon's events. We are indebted to so many who gave their support in so many ways. All proceeds go to our little church on the Common. Come and join us for our Harvest Festival on October 1 at 6.30pm. Everyone is welcome to share bread and cheese at the end of the service.
