I FEEL I must put pen to paper regarding this year's Ledbury Carnival. What a truly wonderful, memorable occasion.
The weather was perfect and, looking down on the great number of people, everyone laughing, joking, eating super pork rolls or beefburgers, ice creams or lollies, the atmosphere was terrific.
There was something for everyone; the procession with all the floats so carefully prepared, the music from the market hall with all the people dancing, the clowns performing, the crowds at the fair, the boot sale and the stalls in St Katherine's.
The vegetable and flower show - the size of the onions and leeks, the runner beans and baskets of vegetables, not forgetting the flowers and children's gardens which were really lovely. Finishing with a lovely cup of tea and a piece of cake, which was most welcome.
I appreciate the effort that goes into an event of this nature, just sheer hard work by the committee over several months of the year. Every year seems better than the last.
I would like to thank all the members of the committee for the tremendous effort, from all the people who attended, you did a marvellous job. Thank you all very much.
Peggy Phillips, New Street, Ledbury.
