CAR PASSENGER Alison Bennett opened her car door and sent a cyclist flying, magistrates at Evesham were told yesterday (Thursday).
Bennett, aged 39, of Hemmingway, Fairfield, Evesham, pleaded guilty to opening the door dangerously on May 11 and was fined £100, with £35 costs.
Sally Hill, prosecuting, said Bennett, sitting in the back seat, opened the nearside door in the path of the cyclist riding up the nearside. He was thrown from his machine and hit his head on another car.
In her letter to the court, Bennett said: "I was not paying enough attention. I am sorry for causing the injury to the cyclist."
