ON a much brighter day than expected at Mathon Court, West Malvern opened the batting.

After a slow start and early wicket loss of Jon Harris for seven, the partnership of Eddie Bray and Phil Chaundy steadily gathered momentum and produced a total of 217 with Phil Chaundy at 18 years old one of West Malvern's excellent young prospects achieving his first century for the Club.
This performance included five 6's and ten 4's amassed a final total of 123no ably supported by Eddie Bray with a score of 77no allowing West Malvern to declare at tea with 227- 1.
Worcester Lawyers again after a slow start and loss of early wickets found it difficult to increase their run rate even with the worthy score of 80 no from Tony Spicer and never looked like achieving the target with the game ending in a draw.
