COLWALL Cricket Club held their annual 6-a-side tournament on Bank Holiday Monday.
From the group matches in the senior event Hereford Nomads, Bell, Worcester Nomads and holders Malvern Ramblers progressed to the semi-final stages.
In the first semi-final Malvern Ramblers played Hereford Nomads and despite a fine knock by David Kingsmill (29) lost in the last over. Chris Fry (22) and Steve Tompkins (25) both batted well for the Nomads. In the second semi-final Bell defeated Worcester Nomads to the delight of the very supportive Bosbury contingent. Davis was the hero with an accurate over and quick fire 21 with the bat.
The all Herefordshire final proved to be an anti-climax after tow close semi-finals. Hereford Nomads amassed 68 in their allotted five overs with Chris Fry 23 and Nick Price 25 being the main contributors.
In reply despite 20 from Mike Crapp the Bell fell well short of their target finishing on 45.
U13 winners
In the under 13 event Worcester Nomads proved too strong for the opposition and won all their games in the group stages and the final against last years' winners Dominies.
Trophies and medals for both events were presented by Club President, Don Bannister.
Finally Colwall Cricket Club would like to thank all those Club members who supported the day and the teams for providing excellent cricket on the day.
