NEW hooker Andrea Moretti is promising an Italian job on Saturday as Worcester begin their quest for glory.
The former Petrarca star, who signed in at Sixways last month, is confident his new side can lay the ghosts of seasons past to rest and clinch promotion.
He said: "Everything I have done here in training so far has been very positive and I believe we have everything in place to win the league and get the club into the Premiership.
"We have to be confident because I came here, like many other players, to win things. That means you also have to be professional in your approach to training and playing and we all know what the coach expects.
"We know it will not be easy at Orrell but I think if we do the basics right then we can be successful."
The Italian, who spent one year in New Zealand to gain valuable rugby experience, has settled in well since his arrival in England.
He said: "Everything has been brilliant since I came to Worcester. The facilities are fantastic and if you want to be a professional rugby player there is no better place to be."
The 27-year-old is also a big fan of Adrian Skeggs and Geoff Cooke and believes the coaching will not only bring the club success but will help him and Italy in the long run.
"I have already learned a lot since I came here and I think their coaching will improve me as a player and my contribution to the national side."
Worcester travel to Orrell on Saturday in their National League Division One opener, including eight new players in the line-up, with recent history on their side.
They did the double over the Wigan outfit last season with a 41-3 victory at Edge Hall Road and a 35-32 win at Sixways.
Director of coaching, Skeggs is also confident his side can make a big impact in Division One this season.
He said: "We should win this league with the players we have. However, it is vital we get off to a good start and build up our confidence because we have Leeds at Sixways next week."
