THE Worcestershire Golf Club's ladies section's Jack Campbell Cup stableford was played over 16 holes this year and won by Zena Lloyd with 37 points with the runner-up being Brenda Jones on count back from Janet Long with 36 points.
Dry favourable weather in August has resulted in more run on the ball and good scores for the ladies.
In the Russell Bogey/Par competition, new member Diane Meakin, beat the course comprehensively ending six holes up, Jill Mico was second ending up four holes ahead. Both are very good scores against a tough course.
Diane maintaining her recent form came second in Division One of the August medal with nett 69 on count back from Ursula Pearson. The combination of these good results has meant her handicap has dropped to 15.
August medal Division One winner, Anita Leaver also had an instant drop in handicap. Resulting in a very happy social atmosphere in the club house with the biggest smile of the day going to Linda Mackie for her score of 66 to make her the winner of Division Two and Janet Long second with 69.
Promising junior girl player Joanna Yorke has had continued success in Junior Opens. She played four under her handicap at Fulford Heath, and soon after won the Gloucester Junior Open with a nett 63 to cut her handicap from 29 down to 26.
