6 YOUR readers may like to know about the opening of a West Midlands Regional office in Brussels, allegedly to give this "region" a direct voice at the heart of the European Union.

Well it sounds good, so what's wrong with that? Well, naturally, the EU is increasingly operating on a regional basis; that is how the individual countries of Europe are to be run when full integration into the EU Superstate has been achieved.

The UK is to be divided up into 11 regions, each with its own Assembly. This process is already well underway.

The reason that England cannot have its own parliament/assembly, like Scotland or Wales, is that it will be split into seven regions at a later date.

The administration of this is in place now, as each area has a "Regional Government Agency" set up already. The next stage is to put in the direct links to Brussels.

The EU's stated aim is to become a "Europe of the Regions". These will replace our county and district councils and, in time, our national government. Why do we let ourselves be fooled by this creeping tide of EU propaganda? The whole idea was conceived, more than 50 years ago, to end the European wars of the last century.

As for the euro, a "common currency", this is a total irrelevance in an age of global e-commerce.

We could save our money and our democracy, by withdrawing from the EU and live and work in the free, global economy again.
