GOLDEN girl Kim Briggs stormed to national swimming success earlier this month.
Representing the West Midlands, the 12-year-old won two gold medals at the British Telecom National Swimming Championships, in association with Disability Sport England, at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.
Kim, who has a mild form of cerebral palsy, raced to top spot in the 50 and 100 metres freestyle races, setting a new national record in the process at the shorter distance.
It was just reward for her regular training with Piranha Swimming Club in Erdington and weekly practice at Droitwich Sports and Leisure Centre
Her mother, Sue, said: "I'm very proud of her and hope she achieves her goal of appearing in the Paralympics one day. I'd like to thank Droitwich Sports and Leisure Centre for their support with Kim's training and her coach at Piranha's, Chris Harris."
The Droitwich High School pupil, who has been swimming for two years, also trains with the England Disability squad four times a year.
