KINGS Heath's frustrating weather-hit season continued last week with two more fixtures rained off.

The postponement of the Birmingham Senior Cup tie at Stratford and the league trip to Sutton mean the Kingsmen having played only once in five weeks.

And the Lye Meadow tenants appeared set for more disappointment last night (Tuesday) when they were preparing to try again at Stratford.

With more rain expected the clubs were this week already drawing up contingency plans for a further attempt tomorrow (ko 7.45pm) with a possible derby date against league leaders Studley the incentive for Sean Lawless' men.

Striker James Woods' on-off move from Sutton has been completed but there is a doubt over Woods' eligibility for the Birmingham Senior Cup tie.

The new arrival will be available for the visit of Handrahan Timbers on Saturday (ko 2.45pm). Lawless is waiting to talk to Blackheath goalkeeper Miles Day after making a seven day approach. Sweeper and captain Scott Matthews is on the comeback trail after an operation to repair knee ligament damage.

Matthews suffered the injury early in the season and is two weeks away from a return after resuming light training.

Midfielder John Price is back after a hamstring injury.
