A WARNING to people to be even more security conscious in the run-up to Christmas has gone out from Evesham police.
The warning follows break-ins at four houses in Coronation Street, Montfort Street and Kings Road, Evesham, during last Friday night.
At about 3am last Saturday, the security lights were activated in a garden in Kings Road and a person seen to jump over the fence into an alley way leading to Coronation Street.
In three of the four houses, the intruder reached through the cat flap and used the key, which had been left in the door, to gain entry. Items stolen included bottles of wine, phones, cash and electrical equipment.
Beat manager Paul Adams said: "We strongly believe that all the incidents are connected and we are continuing with our inquiries."
He added: "With the run up to Christmas, I would urge people to be extra vigilant and more security conscious, keeping valuables out of sight and removing all keys from doors."
Anyone with information relating to the burglaries is asked to contact police on 01905 723888 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
