A "GRAPHIC" reminder to the Prime Minister of his November visit to Bewdley is winging its way to Downing Street.
But Bewdley artist David Edwards is sending his picture of the town to show Mr Blair what it looked like in better times rather than when he flew in to see the latest floods.
Mr Edwards's view of Load Street mixing features at different periods in its history shows a sunny scene with a coach and horses approaching an ivy covered St Anne's Church.
Mr Edwards is producing a limited edition of 250 prints of his oil-on-canvas painting entitled Midsummer Magic which measures 24ft by 36ft and took 300 hours to paint.
He is offering to donate £15 to the Save Kidderminster Hospital Campaign for every picture he sells.
But the first print goes to Mr Blair, to thank him for his recent visit.
"The painting is a gesture of goodwill to make up for the hostility he met here that day. It was really good of him to come.
"It showed he really cared," said Mr Edwards.
Chairman of the hospital campaign Dr Richard Taylor said he admired the unusual depiction of Bewdley in the painting and praised Mr Edwards's "generosity" to the campaign.
Prints are available from the Bewdley Gallery, Lax Lane, or further information from Mr Edwards on 01299 402930.
