I WRITE regarding the farcical situation we are encountering with Wychavon District Council in our attempt to move to Vale Park. The latest refusal by the council is even more unbelievable than your recent 'Catch 22' article outlined.
We were encouraged and given guidance with our application for houses at our Badsey Road yard by officers of the council who then inexplicably recommended to the committee our application should be refused for reasons which contradicted what they had told us.
The information given by the officers to the committee was selective and did not fully represent the true situation.
Not one councillor on the committee had one word to say or question to ask about our application. A vote was taken and the whole process lasted minutes. For this my company paid the council a considerable fee in addition to all the costs incurred in preparing our application.
To add insult to injury we have recently received the formal permission to use our land at Vale Park. This includes conditions that are unreasonable and unworkable and which are mysteriously additional to those imposed by the planning committee at the time this application was approved.
We have written to the council asking for an explanation of their conduct, but at present it looks as though our move to Vale Park is in doubt.
