CAMPDEN: Level Crossings - At the last meeting of the north Cotswold Farmers' Association a resolution was unanimously adopted appealing to the Great Western Railway Company to do away with the level crossings at Campden and Blockley stations and erect bridges in the places thereof as people driving along the road are sometimes detained before being able to cross the line at those places.

CHURCHILL: An Alarming Motor Smash. It occurred between Churchill and Ryne Hill at about 8.30 on Friday morning in thick fog. The two vehicles, a steam wagon and a car were mixed up in such a way that many hours elapsed before they could be separated. Nobody was seriously hurt.

Stow: Fines totalling £80 were imposed at Stow Magistrates' Court on Thursday for food rationing offences. A smallholder appeared on four summonses alleging the illegal slaughter of two calves and a lamb, unlawfully supplying rationed food for household consumption and disposing of meat other than that obtained from the Ministry of Food. Two other men pleaded guilty to unlawfully obtaining rationed food for household consumption and being in possession of meat other than that obtained from the Ministry of Food.

Cotswold: Chipping Norton Town Council urged West Oxfordshire district council to consider buying a derelict site at the top of New Street in order to speed up the re-development of the area.
