LOCAL HISTORY SOCIETY: The history of petrol filling stations from 1895 to 1939 was the somewhat unusual subject of the most recent meeting of the Local History Society from the speaker, Trevor Lord. Throughout Mr Lord showed a fascinating selection of slides showing many early examples of filling stations. At the end Mr Lord answered questions from the audience.
