WHIST DRIVE: The whist drive held at the village hall on Thursday evening, December 7, was well attended in spite of very wet weather, and flood warnings. The event was organised by Mrs B Hodges to raise funds for the County Air Ambulance Service. Mr John Chester was MC, Mr C Bromfield, drawmaster. Eleven tables were in play. Whist, raffle and mystery prizes were won by: Mrs H Archer, Mrs N Bennett, Mrs E Edwards, Mrs D Hickmott, Mrs P Griffin, Mr F Jeffreys, Mrs B Errington, Mr J Chester, Mrs G Crook, Mrs D Yarwood, Mrs J Palmer, Mr T Jeynes, Mrs Warner, Mr T Grinnell, Mrs J Rose, Mr R Davis, Mrs M Jones, Mrs M Brown, Mrs J Crowley, Mrs M Gill, Mr E Willis, Mrs T Stamp, Mrs M Geaves, Mrs B Bromfield, Mrs C Evans and Mr P Macarthy.
