HARVINGTON Golf Society completed their year 2000 fixtures when they visited the Vale Golf and Country Club.
The format was 18 holes stroke play on the international course in the morning followed by the "Three Club Challenge" around nine holes of the Lenches course in the afternoon.
Despite the recent wet weather, the course was in excellent condition for early December, and this was reflected in some excellent scoring.
The morning round was won by incoming Vale captain and Society chairman Rob Millward with an excellent four under par 70 from Craig Moss (72). The first six places were either par or better.
The afternoon results, where only two clubs and a putter could be used, again saw Moss in the frame, with a five under par 30 beating his father, Chris, into second place on 32.
Again 13 of the 30 players returned scores of par or better.
The day was rounded off when the majority of members and their partners attended the annual presentation dinner at The Mill, Harving-ton.
Over 25 awards were presented for both the day and the year, and this culminated in a consistent season seeing Andy Basford crowned Golfer of the Year.
