SUCCESS in three of the 11 events they entered in the 2000 Wychavon Parish Games helped Evesham Bengeworth take the overall title.
The new champions took the maximum points in football five-a-side, men's darts and angling to easily see off the challenge of runners-up Bretforton, winners of the dominoes.
Crowle were a gallant third just four points further adrift with victory in the cross country their sole success.
Evesham Hampton won two of their seven events while other winners were Offenham, Peopleton, Harvington and Badsey and Aldington. Around 1,500 participants from 31 parishes contested the 12 events this year.
