Pinvin and District Crib League
TWO teams from the lower half of the table inflicted 6-3 defeats on teams challenging for the top spot.
The Swan (Birlingham) recovered from a poor start in the doubles, where they found themselves 2-1 down, to level at 3-3.
They then had the audacity to take the final three singles with little resistance. Joyce Bird and Terry Price (Swan) and Doug Langdon (Bell) were the double winners on the night.
Over at The Old Chest-nut Tree, John Eastoe organised his Old Oak troops to perfection as they came away with a victory that moved them two places up the table.
Chestnut's Colin Gard-ener and Dave Bagnall both put up some resistance by winning both doubles and singles, but it wasn't good enough as Eastoe clinched the match with a winning double.
Results: Old Chestnut Tree 3, Old Oak 6; Bell 3, Swan 6.
